Cookies

What AroundHere keeps on your device, and your choice.

Your choices

  • Essential Always on

Needed for AroundHere to work, such as remembering your area and what you saved on this device.

  • Analytics

Optional. Off unless you turn it on. Counts how the site is used, never free text, a postcode or your position.

What we keep

On your device: your area and distance, the events and places you saved, and this choice. AroundHere sets no cookies of its own; these items sit in your browser’s storage and stay until you clear your browser data or change the setting here. Three things are kept for this visit: a position you share, how far down a list you had read (so Back returns you to the same place), and whether you chose to show a map.

ah.saved.v1
The events and places you saved.
ah.origin.v1
Where distances are measured from (the centre or a town) and how far to look. Your device position, if you choose it, is kept for this visit only.
ah.list.v1
How far down a list you had read, for this visit only, so Back returns you to the same place.
ah.cookie-consent.v1
Your choice about cookies and similar storage.
ah.map.v1
Remembers that you chose to show a map for this visit, so other maps can open without asking again.
mapbox.eventData…
An anonymous identifier kept by the map provider, Mapbox, for its own usage statistics.
